I've been to Disneyland and I've been to California Adventure, but this is real:
CALIFORNIA (DESERT) ADVENTURE:
- Depart LA as early or as late as you please
- Arrive at Fountain Of Youth & set up a tent in their primitive camp area (dirt parking lot). This is for snowbirds only, so don't expect too warm of a welcome.
- In the morning, sweat it out in the steam room & sauna!
- Take dips in the jacuzzis & pools!
- Leave that place and head for Niland, CA
- Tour Salvation Mountain
- Ask around for what to do/where the hotsprings are/where to camp (the best part is word of mouth is the only way to get this information really)
- Buy groceries for dinner
- Get to your campsite- watch out for tweakers
- *Recommended campsite is above Salvation Mountain to the right on the cliff by the 2 water towers covered in murals of different animals doing eachother
- Cook Dinner
- Head to the Hotsprings
- Ask hippies in the hotsprings what they're up to that night (if it's Saturday the only place to go is the range- outdoor generator run open mic/talent show of the locals of Slab City)
- Make a fire back at camp
- Sleep well on the cliff's edge- someone should have a tiny falling out because of an argument regarding the proper way to make a fire (teepee vs lincoln logs)
- Wake up & make instant coffee in old beer bottles
- Drive to the Salton Sea
- Go to a bar there but maybe just order water as drinking in this sad place is sorta sad
- Rescue someone stuck in the sand
- Experience an earthquake (3 a week they say)
- Steal oranges from the orchards on the drive home
- Try to freak out border patrol any way you like
- Stop for a date shake & a trip to the Dinosaurs off the 60
