I am reading Captivating right now. It's the girl version of Wild At Heart. I was pretty skeptical of this book for a number of reasons. But there's some truths in here that I'm into. Here's one.

So You Had A Bad Day?

After a super fly fun photoshoot with Krochet Kids for their Winter 09 Line Katie Slack decided to spend the night, watch a great movie, and have some fun in the morning. We awoke to find a parking ticket on her car. A horrible way to start the day. I told her I'd make it up to her...take her to my most favorite spot in Culver City

....a semi-secret gallery that if you come visit LA I promise we will go...unless you are one of my readers from India, in that case we probably shouldn't go anywhere alone until we get to know each other first.

So she's got a ticket. I'm trying to lift her spirits. I'm on my cell phone driving. I make an illegal U turn over double yellow right in front of a cop. He pulls me over. I don't have my insurance card either.

2 tickets in one day. We are in disbelief.

I sweet talk the man into a $0 fix it ticket. We discuss family issues. The war. Meeting his wife. How I am a gypsy. How I have 6 expired insurance cards. The funny fact that I misspelled my address on my Driver's License. (See Fig 1) How I am an LMU Business School graduate. How I am his favorite person he has pulled over (and no, brad, i was not his first person to pull over I assure you). How I just wanted some tea and that's why I broke the law.

But I do have to appear before a judge to show him the card. I'm secretly excited because I've ever been pulled over and never been before a judge. I am going to try to slip in a Judge Reinhold Arrested Development reference to be sure.

So we are both feeling pretty poor, spirits are low, morale is down despite the fact I got out of it I just feel like a junky human being for making an amateur move such as this.

And we are arrive at the hot spot, and we hop right in to the Porta Party.

And everything is fixed in one song.

The Very Last Crank Mob

Yes, apparently this was the very last LA Crank Mob but my very first. It was more adventure than I am used to for sure. 5Xs the distance I've ever biked. Police escorts. Helicopter fly overs.  Warehouse dance parties. Mosh pits...ha. Getting hit in the head by someone's drink...that's when I put on the helmet for the night. Chanting.


 The sheer number of people that were participating was one of the most impressive parts of the whole night. Going through tunnels turned us all into howler monkeys. My favorite part of the night was the last warehouse we went to around 3:30am where the DJ was spinnin dem jamz. Actually, my favorite part of the night was getting home. I felt a great sense of accomplishment mixed with what people coming back from battle feel like. 

In total, about 35-40 miles. I'm having trouble walkin.

We started at 9PM. Got Home at 5am.

What happened in the middle was a bunch of stuff like this.

Here's a little something I made born out of artistic frustration that this is what I made at work today.

PROJECT: Animals & Vegetables

I've been dreaming up this project for about a year now, and I'm at a point in my life where I am ready to just jump in--(lettuce)head first.... just (en)dive in and really go(pher) it!

That improv intro sentence couldn't have gone better. Wow. That is just another omen that God wants me to share Animals & Vegetables with the world. Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with the uncanny similarity between animals and vegetables. I would argue, it the most obvious similarity on the planet.*

*Exception: 

Nevertheless, there is significance in the fact that a mushroom looks like a ram's head. Brocoli looks like water coming out of a whale's blow hole, and a....well, I better not tell you any more...gotta leave some mystery for next week. This world was made to fit together. For everything on this earth, there is also something that exists soley to be with that thing. 

Man for Woman. Wood for Fire. Animals for Vegetables.

Buckle up, people, because this aint my first rodeo and you are about the adventure into unknown territory. I'll post weekly animal & vegetable works and suggestions are welcome.
